Robert Durr
Robb Durr received his art training from The Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida and the Fort Lauderdale School of Design. He has been a sculptor for over 30 years and has won awards for both his illustrative work and his fine art pieces.
He worked with American Greetings for twelve years, at which time he won the Bronze awards at The International Dimensional Illustrators Show for 1992 and 1994.
He worked as a designer and sculptor for K & M International of Twinsburg, Ohio. In 2007 he completed work on a Steve Irwin talking action figure for Australia Zoo and his 7 foot sculpture of the Steve Irwin action figure is with the Australia Tourism Board.
He also designed and sculpted the prototype for the Bindi Irwin doll and introduced it at Toy Fair 2008.
His illustrations and characters for the highly successful line of Kid Concoctions series of books have been licensed and developed as toys, greetings cards, and costumed characters, appearing at Dollywood and Silver Dollar City.
His popular line of Fairy Doors and Accessories are available on-line at his HiddenWorlds store on Etsy.com.
He is currently developing a series of bonded-bronze sculptures depicting animals of the wild.
Robb’s work spans both commercial and fine art arenas. Locally his sculptures can be seen at the Metroparks Penitentiary Glen area and the Shaker Heights Nature center. His work is also in private collections nationwide.
